Trouble is to machine the grooves out the disk thickness would be left thinner than the minimum stamped on it and most won't do that so we are stuck with doing it ourselves.
My rear is in bad shape like that but I just stick on new pads and run with the disk as is.

Yep, just use it as is or look for a better replacement. Once the new pads are broken in you wont notice a difference. I would not use sintered pads like the factory used, organics are more disc friendly. I`m guessing these grooves aren't too terrible..Right?

The grooves actually add more surface area for the pads to bite. Might look bad but have better stopping power than a new disk.

I bought one on eBay that was pretty nice for around 50$. Cheaper than a new one.

Good luck
Cheers

The trouble with E-Bay is, you don't know what your getting. I ordered a disk from the Bay one time and the guy said it came from a GL1000 in good shape. When I got it, it was from some a different bike not a GL I got screwed . It was to expensive to return for refund and the guy new it :mischief: so, I was out of a disk and money  and no, E-Bay couldn't do anything unless I ship it back, screwed again

I found this place that will resurface a disk for $45.00 but the problem for me is the shipping cost. I will figure the cost for shipping and see if it's worth it.
