I have an 83 aspencade which after getting caught in a rain storm I have lost my speedometer readings. The LCD dash still works but my speed is 0. I am sure I have to remove the front wheel to check things out, my issue is one of the axel cap nuts is up against the body of the sensor, and of course the Phillips head screw, I assume is there to remove the sensor for replacement is of course stripped. My question is how do I cat the caps off without destroying the outside of the sensor housing? I wish I could post a picture of my issue, but I am away from home for a few days and no access tony ride. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try a #3 philips screwdriver on the screw. I sometimes stick the screwdriver in dirt (we have clay here) for a little grit to help grip.
