the heat ( 95F ) was starting to get to me, i was feeling light headed so it was time to back track to jefferson so i could stop at the gas station. once there i got a ginseng tea and a bottle of water, i stood by the bike and drank part of both before heading back home. after two days of riding the GSA my foot feels pretty good but i don't think i'm ready for a long haul

As usual, some of the best ride travelog sequences on this forum. Thanks for another day out, William. Glad to hear the foot is getting better.

Speaking of feet, my left foot slipped off a ladder to the inside last week. I did not fall...but I over extended an extensor tendon on TOP of the foot! I have had a few ankle injuries over the years, but I have never had such pain in my foot as I have from this tendon on the top of it. I am darn near a cripple and it doesn't seem to be getting any better yet. If it's not better in a couple of days, I am going to visit a podiatrist. Not real anxious to hear what he might have to say to tell you the truth.

At least it's not impacting my riding. I have a trip planned for September, but it has been too darn hot here lately to even head out in the morning into the mountains only to have to come back down into the oven.

...tendons are slow to heal, that the problem i am having...

Definitely not what I wanted to hear. Well, at least you are further along the curve. I can tell this one is going to be a real bugger. As long as I am semi-mobile towards the end of September.

if you feel your foot spazing its a sign that the tendons are healing. this isn't my first go round with tendons. last time took about 10 months to heal

Good to hear that you are finally seeing some progress in your healing William. :good:
I have been having a great run with my left rotator cuff injury until I strained it again putting a new starter in a Cat 931c drott. The recovery cycle certainly takes a lot longer nowadays. Every time I think that I am falling to bits and finding new aches and pains, I remind myself that Dad is 84 next month and I swear that his work days are bigger and harder than mine.
