valve adjustments

Hi everyone, On my 83 GL1100 Interstate....can I remove the valve covers without removing the crash bars to do a valve adjustment? Looks kinda tight to pull them out through the bars. Joe

I've never been able to do it with the bars I have.

Yes you can. Take your time and watch your valve cover seal as you navigate the cover past the valves. I do it all of the time and think I have the same guards as you.
