What I Saw on my Way to Mom's

i usually take
I-94 east to get over to mom's for a visit but the expressway was closed for bridge removal, i'm " ok " with it. so i decided to take tireman ave, east and pick up W. grand BLV. i looked over at the motown museum but i have plenty of pic's in front of it so i kept going. just east of chene ST. w. grand BLV. was closed forcing me to take chene st. i was in no hurry on this nice, bright, sunny day. i spotted this old gas station before crossing gratiot ave. i continued down chene st. made a left turn and headed east on vernor st. coming up to crane st. i spotted this mural, didn't realize there was a mural on three sides of the building. i made the right turn on crane st, then a left on lorman street so i could get turned around and spotted this on someone's garage

i made a U-turn so i could get a pic of the mural i first spotted when i noticed this one on the same building

i made a fast right turn and got back on vernor when i spotted the third mural on that building but vernor is a one way street and there was no way or where to turn around to get the last pic so i just kept going north. i had passed several churches on my way but at vernor and beniteau st. i made a stop for a pic of this one,

i took beniteau st. south and looped around, i ended up on st. jean st. from there it was just over a mile to mom's house

after having a good visit with mom i rode over to ford park to get a couple pic's by the detroit river for my sisters sandra and vicky

i made the two mile ride over to my brothers for a visit from there, he was surprised and happy to see his little brother. i gave him his birthday card, he took it in the house then came back out to do yard work, i would have helped but summer motorcycle gear isn't good for doing yard work so we chatted while i watched him work

once i left my brothers house i headed west on jefferson ave. then made a right on seminole st. at saint paul street i spotted this church and stopped for a pic, i like the message

i took seminole street back to vernor so i could go back and get a pic of the mural at crane street that i had missed

from there i made my way back to my side of town and made a stop at the grocery store before going home

Good to see you’re riding the 1500 :wave:

both ST's are still in the shop and i had too much ground to cover and not enough time to take the Mighty CT70, the vibration from the GSA makes the ride over to mom's uncomfortable so i'm on the wing for awhile. i say awhile because once back home i could smell antifreeze, i think it has a blown head gasket
