WTB aftermarket exhaust system for 1982 GL1100, I am looking for a clean used system.
I think $500+ is just too much for the new Jardines'
Would like to be in the $150-$250 range.
Phil

Phil ... have a set of Jardines in storage that I ran on my 80, haven't looked at them in a while, they were in pretty good shape as I remember. Are you still looking? If so, I'd dig them out and get you a couple of pics. Don't see why couldn't stay in your price range, but they are bulky and heavy to ship, so shipping could be a little pricey, which would be yours in addtion to the purchase. They ran fine, I just decided to return to the stock decibel levels. Am looking to "cafe" that bike and build up some custom pipes using a set of head pipes I've been sitting on so don't expect to put the Jardines back into service. Let me know ...... crowe ....... :Egyptian:

Crowe,
Thanks for the info, I have decided to clean up the stock pipes before I decide to buy a different set.
I originally thought the stock set was toast but they are coming around.
The noise level does concern me a little.
Im supposing the shipping cost would be rather prohibitive.
Do you know if the Jardines require re-jetting?
Thanks, Phil

I had a set of Jardines on my '81 and they did not require re-jetting. I sold them and shipped them out for $63 (USPS). I just wrapped them heavily in bubble wrap and tape! (No box)

When I sent that OEM set to you USPS, Gerry do you remember if I boxed them? As I recall I did and shipping was about $75.
They ARE heavy, could be the difference.

Yes they were boxed and wrapped. USPS are the ones who suggested wrapping in bubble wrap only!
