First off fellas,this is going to be a slow project,so bear with me.i ordered and received the carb a couple of weeks ago and ordered the vw type iv intake today from californial.more when it arrives.

What is your plan for runners? Grab rails, aluminum tubing to intake horns, 1" conduit like Dan? Or ?

Right now im planning on welding aluminum tubing to the intake and the oe runners and possibly putting a rubber hose to bridge the gap

Quick update,havent made much progress.i tried dans trick of moving 2 of the mounting holes and boogered them up,so i took the intake to my welder/machinist buddy today and he is going to move all 4 holes and center the carb on the intake and hopefully i wont have to do dans 1 barrel to 2 barrel adapter trick.we shall see

Since you have a machinist working on it already. I'd have him mount the adapter. It does seem to be the final touch needed.

Update:i built my version of dkl's pvc manifold.that thing is a bigger pain in the ass than it looks.need a fuel fitting for the carb,then i can start it
