Finished up new tires, & shock seals, on older 84, brakes ok, change of fluids, & should be ready for summer. :yahoo: Need to watch tires on 87, good bit left till wear bars, will mount & balance the new front tire on extra front rim, so less work when time comes to change. :good: Need to find an extra rear wheel with a disk, so don't have to do tires break down & mount on rims, when its sooo hot. A work out in 50-60 degree days, 90 degrees is a real chore.

Took out the bike for a tire scrubbing ride about 30 miles. Mounted a Kenda Kruz 110/90/19 real nice having a new front tire, the rear is mounted next month. Changed the oil in the forks from 10W fork oil to ATF and I have to say the ATF is smoother and better response it seems to have quit seeping fluid too.
Loving the wing more and more.

Ah, nothing like new tires to make the whole bike seem better.

Finally got to ride in this beautiful Autumn weather again after the deadly deluge at the begining of the month that drowned 5 people. We had a couple of light sprinkles of rain that settled the Dreaded Driveway after being dug up by the bobcat when repairing it leaving a lot of loose stones and dirt. So very slowly I rode the Rats Nest down so that I could have a coffee with the VJMC members in Springwood and finally be riding. After coffee I went to a senior member's house to look at an electrical problem with a weird LED like reverse light on the RH (drivers side) 2007 Honda Legend/Acura. While there he showed me his St1100 home built 3 wheel car, he made everything himself except the drivetrain and managed to get it registered for on road use :good: I then went back up to Graham's house ( he is the VJMC Brisbane inspection officer) who amongst his 28 bikes owns the 82 immaculate Aspencade that he imported from Japan so that he could ride the Rats Nest as a comparison. He was complaining about how sluggish his Aspy is and I beleive it is only because he doesn't want to rev it enough. I told him to take the Rats Nest to 8k so that he could experience how sprightly they can be. Unfortunately he only pulled 6k and felt that the lower gearing and lighter weight was the main benefit of the RN over his Aspy. On the ride home I realised why I love the RN that much, hard launch in first to redline and each gear only looses 1500 rpm between shifts so it doesn't take long to get up to good speed  :good: :salute: :moped:

So this is my plan for the day, @ 11:00 got out of bed, I found out yesterday after a visit to the Hospital I got singles around my right hand side and it hurts even to breath. Got some anti viral tabs and paracetamol keeps the pain down at least a bit.

I have a sort of fork brace looks ugly off the bike so thinking about biting the bullet and buy a aluminium one (this one was chrome). Going to strip down the front wheel as the comstar need refurbishing, it is tatty, will go back to the lock up and retrieve the forks and a strip down on those too. I have a broken bolt in one of the bottoms so need to drill that out.

:swoon: :lazy:

Why is Alice wearing chains? Wouldn't that be heavy? :Egyptian:

I had both of my wings on the road today at the same time. I called my niece lisa and told her " lets go for a ride! " she was over in no time flat with her riding gear. I guess I'm still not confident in the 1200 so I didn't plan a long ride. we took schafer rd. south to m-153 and headed west once out of canton, mi there was almost on traffic, I asked lisa if she had ever been this far on m-153, her answer was " no " I told her that m- 14 was just up ahead and so was ann arbor rd, I've taken her on ann arbor rd. several times but I'm not sure if she realized where she was. we made a right on ann arbor rd. going east for home. we made a right on Schafer rd. going south and went back to my house with 46 miles for the day, the 1200 wing ran well and the 1200 wing rider had a big smile on her face when we got back to my house. if it isn't raining tomorrow we plan to take a longer ride

1200 is a nice ride give a good run. I'm loving mine.
lisa has a nekked '82 1100 and I've ridden it several times but its hard to compare a nekked wing to a dressed wing. like you I enjoy my 1200 wing its just that the 1500 wing is a better fit without any mods

So they got the bars and the seat right for you on the `1500.Move them on the 1200. Trust me William you will love it!
