Hi Seth, glad to hear you are getting better :good: now you got two things to work on, your bike and you. You have to get both in shape to ride. :moped:

The funny thing is, I am a fat guy... but I am one the of most agile 240# guys you will ever meet. I am also an avid hiker, I have been known to hike 18 miles non stop up into the Olympic mountains with a 30# bag on my back. All the skinny hikers look at you funny when you pass them on the trail and double there weight. You should check out my Youtube channel I have some hiking videos on there too. If I get back to my goal weight (185) I will be unstoppable.

Okay, it has been a long time... so..

The bike is about 80% done. I got the single VW intake on and have test ridden the bike. Carb needs some tuning but I think it will work. Here is an update video for you all.

Here is a video I took yesterday.

I love the 78-79. I am looking for a stock seat if you know anyone that would trade. The cover on mine needs re-glued/stapled. I will post a photo of it if someone asks.

So, some bad news.. I am about 80% sure that the GL1000 has a head gasket issue. I just checked the water after taking it for a short ride yesterday and it is milk shake... not to mention it smells like exhaust. Man... I just can't win with this bike.
