That gives me an idea, maybe muffler wrap or black grip tape.

#1 runner is done!!

This makes all runners done, Yay!!

Need to polish the runner insides, pick up some clamps and cut flange gaskets then it's blastoff!

Dan, you may have answered this earlier, but I'm to lazy to go back and see....but...
Are you using o-rings, or gaskets on the head end flanges?

About time you got your priorities right. :good:
:smilie_happy: That's right! Who needs to work? That just gets in the way! Having income is overrated!!

She runs!

No vacuum leaks.

Idle is much smoother, comparable to a good stock rack.

Acceleration/rev is real good and returns right back to 950 rpm every time.

I'll be back with a ride report.

Excellent! And it's the only one in the entire universe like it!
For now! I expect there will be more than one copy this build. :clapping:

You betchya!!

Joe and I talked on the phone quite a bit and did some jet tweaks so I'm posting 3 ride reports below:

First ride, no changes in jets or otherwise;

No bogging on take off.

Cruise was a bit "surging".

Wide open throttle, good power up til 6500-7000 rpm then it would loose power.
Could not get it to recover above that no matter what.
If I let back on the throttle, it would recover. Repeatedly after trying several times.
It felt like fuel pump wasn't keeping up with demand.

I was wrong.

I swapped over the entire jet tube from primary to secondary.

Second ride;

Take off bogged very bad but once secondary opened it took off to almost pulling me off the grips.
Acceleration would keep going well past 8000 if I let it.

Jet mod:

1. Filled and drilled the primary air jet to 1.60 mm. is was 1.75.
2. Moved the 1.75 to the secondary well tube. It was 210.

Third ride;

Takeoff is a real good, no bogging.
Mid power feels a bit lean. I feel a tiny bit of surging.
Secondary power is all there, up to and past redline.

It's very rideable right now. I could leave it as is but I'm going to order an air filter and mount then see how it does. Air filter restriction may add a bit more gas to get rid of that bit of surging.
If not then I'll experiment more with jet sizes. I want it just enough gas in the mix for smooth power and mpg.

I need to give Joe a lot of credit here for all the studying and analyzing he's done of these jets and the carbs.
If not for him I would have done differently and been wrong.
Thanks Joe.

Now, for what I've experienced in this build trying different things and reading/talking to Joe about problems others are having......

First, runner size.
1" IS big enough to supply plenty of mix to an 1100 engine.
No "chokes" or venturi's in the tubes needed.
"Possibly" 1-1/4" would be OK also, I don't know. I would have to try it myself to see what improvements (or not) there are if any. Jungo seems to be happy with his at 1-1/4" no chokes.

Finally, there are without a doubt, more than one way to build a single carb setup!

My next ride report on this build will be after a duplicate ride from my last to check mpg.
