So you did buy that GL12, Nice!

a Cool 357Mag Nice!!!!

I should post some pictures of a few of my cool guns.

I do likes to blast things, mainly shooting steel plates, and Golf balls.

You just reminded me that I haven't changed my Avatar.

Blasting things is fun. I mostly like semi's, but in PA it is illegal to hunt with a semi, so I needed a revolver.

At the risk of pissing Gerry off... :smilie_happy:

Who ME??!!!

Nice shot of the bikes!!! :clapping:

Rev.3
Single carb rack cost.

1. $90 New carb. + shipping $15 approx?
2. $23 New Air filter Chinese K&N knock off
3. $10.00 New Airfilter adaptor
4. $65 New VW plenum
5. $10 tubing
6. $7.00 Uni link kit
7. $20 hose and miscellaneous
$225.00
oh and
$40.00 to have two Oem manifolds welded at a fabricator, after twist adjustment, But this $$ could be the Grab bars
$265.00

Only $90 for a carb!
That's about the same as new Mikuni VM30 I put on my IT175.

Okay, so where is the comprehensive conversion handbook I can look at? LOL.

Serious question.
Do the carb and air filter take more room in such a way that electric air pump onboard Aspencade is no where to go?

Compare the Price of the Brand New 32DFT at $90.00 2-barrel progressive carb

Also for MPG figures, the 32DFT can be ran on just the Primary 32mm bore for hopefully even better MPG numbers

But we will see what those are.

Compare to $$ for

a Brand new 34PICT3 single barrel carb $135.00 ea free shipping

Or a Brand New 30PICT1 Single Barrel carb $189.95 + $12.00 shipping

for everyone's information once a few of these single carb builds have been finalized and tested. The huge task of sorting through the pertinent information will be undertaken and a sticky how to thread created. As new builds get proven they too will get added to that thread unhindered by commentary posts. For now the commentary helps move these builds along. I may ask for some volunteers to help at that time.

i don't like where mine is (82) with all the bulky switching mechanism's on top of the fake tank, i think the whole unit can be relocated to a fairing area, or pocket

dunno if there is room to leave it as is, haven't seen any info on that

Arrived to Bradenton, FL. Nice weather but not so nice mpg. Little high fuel consumption compared with the OEM rack.

I' ll repeat the test tomorrow, heading to Orlando, FL.

well im not sure this is all that bad ... im willing to take a hit on mpg ...for the cost saving reliability of stock junk that not repairable .... plus this is really early on ...

seems like getting 160-70 miles before reserve is average I think ...to me it don't look bad

I think there's almost a gallon left in reserve so that mileage isn't bad. Maybe a little more tuning of the carb will make it even better than stock?

Jungo did not say, how much gas it took for replacement, to fill it back up to full again.

As stated the gauge is not accurate.

But if he had a 1/4 tank left plus Reserve tank Too.

I would like to know How much fuel was put back into the tank to fill it back up?

My MPG test numbers have come to a stop

As i have a push the starter button and "CLICK" of the starter solenoid.

I need to figure this problem out, before i can do anything else.

I'd like to know how much to fill up also.

Jump the heavy posts of the solenoid. If it cranks it's a bad solenoid.
also assure clean and tight connections from Bat to starter, just tight doesn't cut it

?? Really? I thought the reserve level was the same in all of the 1100's (1 gallon). My reserve always kicks in after exactly 4 gallons are used every time.

I was surprised too when I drained the tank.
Not sure why it is but after the electric pump stopped pumping from Run, I got 2 more gallons from reserve.
Tank is clean and rust free.

maybe a diff petcock, depends how high the screen/filter is

Back from my mpg test ride.
Mostly freeway at 60-65 with about 20 miles on surface streets.

168 miles on 4.1 gallons= 40.9 mpg

Was hoping for better but this is a good sign and means I'll be tweaking my 1" runners.
Steve83 had a great idea how to solve the too small pipe for the vw plenum outlets.
