Very nice! Make that 6 :good:

I was going to say seven as I thought you were putting in requests for your 1200 C5 mounting posts!! :smilie_happy:

I found it necessary to add a thick washer behind the encoder wheel for better support.
The wheel is so thin that when tightening the front bolt, the washer behind it would distort the wheel.

The 1200 is alive and firing on the C5!

Good to know I could flood 2 cylinders dead and still make it home, lol.

It runs sweet.
It's amazing how idle speed goes up when it's set to the stock ignition.
The 'lopey' idle seems completely gone.
This was worth all the work.

Woo-hoo! Sounds great!

The stock '84 ignition on stock '83 electronics has no advance, mechanical or vacuum - or did you put the 1100 iggy unit on the 1200? That's probably the main difference in your idle speed. Either way, what an improvement the C5 makes! Congrats on a history-making venture!! :clapping: :clapping:

This 1200 had been running the 1100 ignition.
The increase in idle speed is VERY common according to Paul.
It increased when we put it on the 1100 also.

Aah, my bad! I thought you meant the idle speed increased with the stock ignition. With better burn and accurate spark control, an increase in idle speed with the C5 makes perfect sense!

That's different...never mind!

Just back from a short ride around the streets.

Let me say I'm not trying to talk up the c5 and single carb combo, it's just that it's becoming very very hard to find anything wrong with the way it runs.

Idle is smoothest it's ever been once it's warmed up. Unchoked cold idle, it runs real slow rpm. To be expected. It does lope a small bit until it's warmed up.

Low rpm take off was pretty good on stock ignition but stumbled some just a touch off idle.
That is completely gone.

Slow accel upshifts torque is right there in all gears.

High rpm shifts and wide open throttle, better have both hands tight on the grips.

It's hard to explain but the engine sounds happier with a nice tone out the exhaust.

Honestly (no bs) the bump in power and torque I would compare to the difference I felt going from the 1100 engine to the 1200.
It's running so good I'm not sure what I could do next to improve it.

Amazing how well a $40 engine can run with a $200 carb conversion and a $500 C5 ignition :good:

Hmm, your point is?

Seems you said similar in post #2 of this thread.
