it absorbs other things too tha are gas repellant :builder:
If that wood absorbs liquids (and all wood does), why use it? I must be missing something important.

It's a tester being done on the zero money down method.

I am testing there no sense making a1 plate if I don't like how the manifold works it will be fine of testing on the short term ...I did this in an hour I guess ...with stuff I had it cost me nothing .... that's how I do it ...if it if it tests out good I will give it its due ...and make a better plate :builder:

I dont see anything wrong with the wood, if you can fill it good with epoxy.

I have built enough High powered model, boats, and airplanes.

Filling marine plywood with epoxy is very durable, especially for just a adapter plate

Filling it with epoxy will not allow fuel in, so it should not break down, just check at certain maintenance intervals

okay I made a plan change ... I am going to go ahead and choke plates out also ...i was going to use this to control air ...but figured a better way....I will do this where the carb body runner dose this at the slide tube .....im got a piece of closet rod 1 1/4" round that I will mill into slide tube ...arching the bottom to fit intake runner .....and also able to move down some like the slide dose to close down air ... I don't think the adjustment has to be that much just some to have some flexibility in carbs that can be used and to really fine tune the system

I have not quite figure out everything but enough to go for it :builder:

yes the green cap milk is garage too tony ....well if got all the carb body runners filled and ready ...so today ill try and test fit everything on a 1200 motor ....wow long time getting stuff ready here ...pics coming

Sorry, I can't quite make out where those caps come from.
Milk Jugs maybe?
Necessity is the Mother of Invention!

I recall using some of the road crack sealer tar to temporarily plug a pin hole in my rad so I could get home. The car was a POS, it was cold and rainy and I was an hr from home.
I looked around and found this tar sealer sticking out of the pavement cracks and pulled a piece off, laid it on my exhaust manifold to soften it, and then jammed it into the hole.
She still leaked but not as bad. Topped my Rad off with water and opened my cap, made it home where I could next day make repairs. Ya Cain't beat free can ya?
Engine was a Mopar slant head six.

this is stock plenum set up modified and test fitted to slabghost hooched out dresser...

things look good ...it looking like no room for plywood carb plate ...so thin metal plate is a have to it seems ....

making carb just right height so air box and filter will work ...

I really like the runner choke setup ....seems to be perfect for access and individual adjustment ....this has good promise ...

looks like it will fit right on hooch without enven throttle hook up change ...looks a little different for the dresser hook up but not bad ....

Wow! looks like a tight fit. Might need to build a custom filter for that. Maybe reversing the manifold will move the carb to the rear enough?
