    Fairing Gauge Panel

I have all four gauges for the round type available. I used the panel to install a radio, so I have the temp gauge, voltmeter, clock and altimeter if anyone would like/need one or all. PM and we'll work something out. Bob

I purchased neoprene stoppers from Orchard supply that seemed to work.

Riding in the rain, vision issues. Suggestions?

You should be looking over the windshield by about 1 to 1 1/2 inches. The shield will create a wind pocket (vortex) and your faceshield will stay plenty dry. Also, drops on your face shield are very easy to see through, even if they get there. I had a TALL shield on my 1100I and replaced it...

    Dunlop Elite 3 performance reports...

Just put fresh E3s on my 1100I. 22,000 miles on the rear, 24,000 on the front, still had room to the wear bars, but better safe that slippery.

I'm always interested in such things. I'm in northern CA too, Woodland, just west of Sacramento. Let me know the particulars and let's see what we can do.

    Sync Gauges

I picked up the four gage set on the blue metal panel. Went to Walmart and got a six valve aquarium air pump manifold to dampen the readings and I check the calibration when I use it by sucking down a vacumn on the whole set at once. If they are equal, good to go. I also picked up the...

    GL1100 high performance brakes.

Well one big factor is going to be the weight difference. Your cbr and cbr dry weight at under 400 lbs. dry weight of the 1100 is over 700 lbs. momentum is velocity times mass. You are moving about twice the weight at the same speed. No way can you stop that in the same, or near distance

    Fork Tube

I've got a pair of tubes here in Woodland, CA. Where in northern CA are you, we can arrange a meet and swap or you can come direct. Let me know what you think it's worth and it's yours if it's reasonable. That way you don't have to pay for shipping.

    #%^&%$# Window 8

Haven't you guys noticed: There's never been a successful, useful, reliable version of Windows that was an even number? Remember windows 2,4, 2000, millenium.... Windows only works in odd numbers

    rear tire

Yes, the Dunlop MU90B-16 is what I have on my 82 1100I. I just replaced the rear that got me 25,000 miles. I replaced with another E3

    upgrade headlight 82 aspencde

Replace the whole light. I went through the stages: Replaced the bulb with a silverstar, some improvement, but not much. Then I took it out and cleaned the reflector, some more improvement. Then I just went and got a Silverstar 6014 sealed beam. More light, better pattern of light and lower...

If you need some extra hands, I'm in Woodland and have fully repainted my 82 1100I. I'm also have a spare set of forks and odds and ends from my rebuild and hoarding traits. Also like to chat about that speaker assembly for the fairing, see if it fits my Honda Line fairing.

    Trailer bounce

First, yes, drop your tire pressure to 10 to 15 psi. Second, consider removing the second leaf spring, it may be giving you too much stiffness. Third, check your tongue length (should be a distance of 1.5 times the distance between the wheels from the axle to the hitch ball). Too little...

Any idea how many watts are available from the stator?

I added 2 35 watt lights to my 82 1100i and it. Would support that load but when I installed 2 50 watt lamps the voltage dropped to 12.4 and falling. You can free up some watts by replacing any incandescent steady lights with LEDs like the brakes and running lamps. If you swap out the turn...

    Sylvania H6024CB Cool Blue Headlight

I don't have the cool blue, but I did put in the 6024 Silverstar. Wow, what a difference. Much whiter light and the pattern is much better than the original lens.

Are they trying to kill my vintage bikes?

Okay now, READ THE LETTER!!! It does not mandate anything, it says that in those pumps that provide pure gasoline, E-10 and E-15 fuel, it is necessary to pump 4 gallons of fuel to get complete selected fuel coming out of the nozzle. In other words, there is about 2 gallons of fuel in the...

    Headlight upgrade options

I did the 6024 option a year or so ago. Real good decision. Better light pattern due to improved optic technology, reduced amp draw over the halogen bulb choice (I'd already changed that out) and ease of replacements available.
